Increase In Crime Please Consider Your Home Security (Leicestershire Police)

We hope you are keeping well and coping with the cold weather. Here is an update for recent crime in Burbage. Crime has increased over recent weeks so please stay vigilant and get in touch if we can offer any crime prevention support.

Vehicle registration plates stolen from a Mazda on Britannia Road between 13:00 on the 15th and 08:45 on the 16th. Please consider anti-theft screws and ensure you report these incident immediately to Police as your plates will be used in crime.

Suspicious activity on Boyslade Road on the 17th at around 00:50. A suspect male was heard on a driveway with a light. This incident may have been vehicle related so please remember steering locks, RFID wallets and light timers for your home. There was no reported crime for this night so it looks as though they left empty handed.

There has also been a suspicious male around the Frezenberg Close area at 00:34 on the 17th with a torch, appearing to be looking at vehicles. If you have any good facials of him then please send footage to Darren.stretton@Leics.police.uk

A White BMW was abandoned on Passchendaele Drive on Saturday 15th around 21:30. A male was then seen to attend the vehicle again around 03:15 on the 16th. If anyone on the estate has any good images of the male or accompanying vehicles, please drop me an Email.

If you notice an abandoned vehicle, please report it to 101 if you think it is stolen and then https://www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/info/100011/parking_streets_and_transport/111/how_to_report_an_abandoned_vehicle if it is of no Police interest. This will increase parking opportunities in the area for residents and may help us identify crime.

We have been out engaging with residents this week by completing beat surgeries at the Three Pots Post Office and Co-op on Boyslade Road. We will be at the SPAR on Lutterworth Road from 15:00 until around 16:30 on the 19th where we will have crime prevention products if you need anything. If you cannot make it but would like further information, drop me an email to Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk

Parking complaints from areas such as Flamville Road. Police would attend incidents if there is an immediate obstruction to the highway happening at the time of the call to Police but, complaints we get generally involve parking which makes access more difficult or impossible if emergency vehicles needed access. Permanent solutions such as double yellow lines are options for residents to consider. You can contact the county council to request this. We asked that residents work together to resolve these issues as solutions can be lengthy and ultimately damage neighbour relationships. Please consider that not all residents will want this as it may reduce parking for residents/visitors to the area. We would ask that if residents can work together to ease parking issues as it is not a simple solution.

Thank you for your time and take care,
