Vehicle Crime Prison Sentence and Goodbye Hazel

Three men who burgled the same home twice within days have now all been convicted and sentenced for their part in the offences.

In November 2018 a burglary occurred at a property in Burbage and during this incident £100,000 worth of items were stolen – including car keys and empty watch boxes. However, the cars weren’t taken.

The aggravated burglary committed in Burbage was particularly serious and one which was witnessed by the victims’ two young children.  The trauma of that evening will stay with them for a very long time. Full story via the link below.

Goodbye to Hazel, the principal officer at Burbage Parish Council. Hazel has put a huge amount of unseen work and hours into her role over the last few years and it will be very sad to see her leave. She has been a fantastic help and we have worked alongside to support the residents of Burbage as and when we can. You will be missed but Good luck in the future and a massive thank you from me and i am sure the residents of Burbage.

Theft from motor vehicles

Watling Street/A5 area. Theft from van. Cash taken on 26th June in the early hours of the morning. Crime number 21*356065

Marigold Drive. Report of a brick thrown at a parked vehicle and living room window. This incident occurred around 22:45 on 25th June. If you have any CCTV in the area, please get in touch. Crime number 21*354810.

There have been a couple of reports of theft of registration plates from vehicles on Tilton Road and Church Street this week. Please consider Anti-theft screws, park in a well-lit area but ensure this is reported immediately.

Theft from motor vehicle on Amber Way overnight. Incident is believed to have occurred on the 28th June between 20:45 and 03:15. Items taken have been located.

Please do not leave anything in your vehicle. This includes empty hand bags, box’s, coats or anything that may look tempting to a criminal. 2 Arrests were made and we have been collating evidence with the support of local residents.

Scam from resident (Royal Mail)

“Wondered whether you have seen this scam, when I opened it everything looked legitimate, logo, Royal Mail type of form etc it was twice yesterday but this morning it won’t open. Had you seen the firm you would understand how someone may have been taken in.

Royal Mail: Your Package has been held and will not be delivered due to a £1.99 unpaid shipping fee. To pay this now, visit: (LINK DELETED)”
