Burbage Vehicle Crime and Secure Your Property (Leicestershire Police)

Hello,

We hope you are having a nice break (if you are) and enjoying the lovely weather.

Here is an update for crime in Burbage for the last ten days.

Two incidents on Sapcote Road where attempts/entrance has been made to either derelict or unoccupied properties overnight on the 16th and 17th of April. Please bear this in mind that empty properties can get targeted, especially if you have any holidays planned or may have a relative in hospital/care for a while. Always remove valuables such as cash, jewellery or sentimental items. Please try and make properties look occupied by tidying the garden, removing post or asking a neighbour to park on the drive. Also consider light timers and using blinds rather than curtains.

A Ford KA has been stolen from the street on Horsepool overnight on the 15th into the 16th of April. The vehicle was parked on the street. Please consider steering locks. Quick and simple crime prevention may be enough to deter criminals.

A Fiat 500 was also taken from the Church Street area around midnight to 00:30 on the 18th of April., again a keyless entry.

Vehicle registration plates stolen from a vehicle on Rugby Road overnight on the 17th into the 18th of April. We have some VRM anti-theft screws available for £1 per pack so drop me an email if you would like any. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk

We are also currently dealing with several reports of Anti-social behaviour which include reports of drug use/dealing in the area. If you have any information that may help, please get in touch. This activity can impact on standards of living and increase crime in an area, Any information you may have could form part of a bigger picture and really help us.

We can deal with anti-social behaviour in a range of ways, from home visits, letters, closure orders, working with local councils and partner agencies and sometimes it may be in supporting someone that is vulnerable due to age, mental health or other concerns.

Remember, we have lots of basic crime prevention items sold at cost such as window alarms, fence spikes and much more. I will be organising some beat surgeries over the coming weeks and we will continue investigations into recent vehicle crime. If you have any CCTV that may help, get in touch.

Thank you for your time and take care,
