Council Leader Stuart Bray said:

It’s a bitter blow to all of us to see these restrictions return, especially at this time of year when we all want to spend time with family and friends.  But our amazing borough did us proud last time when residents and volunteers came together and rallied around to support others so we can do this again.

Throughout this difficult time we will continue to do everything within our power to support residents and local businesses.

If you do need support then please contact our Coronavirus Resident Support Scheme which continues to be available for people who may need some help as they have no support networks. We are working with a range of local agencies, charitable organisations and local volunteers to do this.

The service prioritises people who have no one else to help and who are the most vulnerable, for example those over the age of 60, those with an underlying health condition, individuals who are on their own and feeling isolated and families that are struggling to cope.

There is more information about the Coronavirus Resident Support Scheme online or if you don’t have internet access you can call us on 01455 238141 Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4:30pm and ask for the Coronavirus Resident Support Scheme.

I’d also urge everyone to keep an eye on the most up to date information about any changes to council services in local media, follow the council on social media or sign up for free email updates
